Food for Thought

If you could have any kind of cake on your birthday, what kind would it be?

a. Special Order/Store Bought
b. "Homemade" (made from a box, but at home)
c. Truly Homemade (totally from scratch)
d. Other - ??

I'd love to hear specifics!

My families tradition is Angel Food Cake ("homemade") with truly homemade lemon, cream cheese frosting.
Kory's family doesn't have a "designated" birthday cake. Each sibling basically decides what they would like. Often times they order cakes from the store.
Kory 's birthday cake of choice - truly homemade Texas Sheet Cake.

I haven't read your blog for an entire week and look at what I missed! (by the way, my last comment didn't happen. Maybe I did something wrong! My favorite picture of Christ is Reflections of Him walking on water. Brings back Galilee memories) We had Jason's b-day cake yesterday, with the traditional spatuala to help us sing! We missed you. Can't wait for your garden to grow. I'm jealous! Loved most of your random thoughts--are those all yours?! and, yes, you are your father's child. He continues to still have his bowl of cereal before bed--much healthier than ice cream! love you!

My mom has this amazing recipe for a Deep Dark Chocolate cake that is homemade from scratch. Combine it with her famous "White Frosting"...also homemade...and it is the family favorite. Birthdays, holidays, any reason really. It is the best!
